English 115 (Powell River): Magazine Analysis Assignment: Outline & Thesis Statement
Working Outline with Thesis Statement (Zora's assignment)
Your working outline should include a working thesis statement that emerges out of your attempts to answer the research question(s) that you outlined in your proposal. The outline should include both main and supporting points that you will develop in your paper. It will indicate how you plan to organize your points. We will discuss writing outlines during Week 9. Your outline will allow you to check the logic of your paper: at this point, you can make sure that you have a clear, complete argument and a strong working thesis.
You should expect writing your outline to be time consuming. However, any time you spend thinking about the structure of and support for your argument now will make writing your paper itself easier and will lead to a stronger final paper.
