Search these resources for information related to particular interest groups, constituencies or market segments.

Some examples to try:

• Statistics Canada Community Profiles for an overview of socio-economic conditions for Nanaimo (or another location)

• E-STAT census tools to retrieve data about population, gender, income, language, immigration status and place of birth, etc.


Find context and analysis in Business literature

To search for Business literature, enter words related to your topic in LibrarySearch; for example a company or product name, or words describing an industry or issue:

Try these refinements and activities within your search results:

  • Limit to news articles only 

  • Limit to trade publications only (i.e. industry- or sector-focused magazines, journals, newsletters)

  • Limit to scholarly publications only

  • Limit to items published in the last two years

  • Access the full text of an item

  • Look for how to link to full text when it isn't immediately available

  • Look for how to email, print, and save your search results or an article

  • Look for how to request an interlibrary loan
