Google Books: Citation Searching

Search for the author's name together with the title of the work in quotation marks (e.g., Postman "End of Childhood")

  • In the search results list, click on a citing work to view the page snippet with the citation highlighted

Google Scholar: Citation Searching

Search for author, together with title in quotation marks (e.g., Carr "Is Google Making Us Stupid")

  • Note the Cited by link that appears below the item in your Google Scholar search results list

  • Clicking on the Cited by link will retrieve a list of works that cite the original item

  • If there are no citations to the item in Google Scholar the link will not appear
