Fair Dealing Guidelines
Copyright material can be used without infringing copyright. This process is known as "fair dealing". The following guidelines are intended to assist in determining appropriate use of copyright material, and should be interpreted in the context of these University policies:

VIU is also licensed by Access Copyright effective 2016-. This license may offer VIU students, faculty and staff benefits beyond those described in the Fair Dealing Guidelines below. These benefits are described in the license agreement.
